The Global Product and Vertical Leader is responsible for shaping the long-term direction of the combined Quest Integrity and In-Line Inspection business. The role establishes the strategies, operating models, organizational capabilities and growth initiatives required to accelerate performance, capture synergies and position the organization for long-term market leadership.
This leader operates at the intersection of strategy, growth, products, vertical markets, organizational transformation and business system deployment. Success will be defined by the ability to align customer needs, market opportunities, technology investments, organizational capability and financial performance while creating a scalable platform capable of sustained growth and profitability.
Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities
1. Business Strategy & Growth
- Lead the development of the Long-Range Plan (LRP) processes.
- Define growth strategies that align customer needs, market opportunities, technology investments and financial objectives.
- Drive strategic portfolio and investment decisions that maximize growth, profitability and long-term value creation.
- Monitor strategic performance and adapt priorities as market conditions evolve.
- Serve as a key member of the Quest Integrity & In-Line Inspection Leadership Team, helping shape the long-term direction of the business.
2. Product, Portfolio & Vertical Leadership
- Own the overall product, portfolio, vertical market and product marketing strategy.
- Define growth priorities across technologies, services, regions, market segments and customer verticals.
- Establish the long-term vision for portfolio evolution, technology development, commercialization and market expansion.
- Ensure alignment between Product Management, Product Marketing, Commercial Leadership and Engineering. And operations
- Balance short-term business performance with long-term strategic investments.
3. Organizational Transformation & Integration
- Define and implement the future-state operating model for the combined Quest Integrity and In-Line Inspection Product organization.
- Evaluate and recommend the optimal structure for managing products, vertical markets, technologies and customer-facing activities, including Product-led, Vertical-led or Hybrid operating models.
- Commence the integration of the Quest Integrity and In Line Inspection Product Organizations.
- Identify and institutionalize the strongest capabilities, processes and practices from both organizations.
- Build alignment across differing operating models, compensation philosophies, cultures and historical business approaches.
- Create a unified organization that captures the best of both businesses while eliminating unnecessary complexity.
4. Strategy Deployment & Business System Leadership
- Partner closely with the Business System Leader to ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational execution.
- Lead the prioritization and selection of annual breakthrough initiatives.
- Ensure breakthroughs address the most critical growth opportunities, capability needs and business challenges.
- Connect strategy deployment, Annual Plans, Long-Range Plans, portfolio investments, and breakthrough initiatives into a unified management system.
- Establish operating mechanisms and review processes that drive accountability and execution.
5. Innovation, Product Lifecycle & Commercialization
- Establish the future-state Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) framework.
- Ensure consistent portfolio governance across technologies and businesses.
- Improve innovation effectiveness, speed to market, commercialization success and return on technology investments.
- Align product roadmaps, technology investments and innovation resources with business growth priorities.
- Ensure market, customer and commercial requirements are incorporated throughout the innovation process.
6. Talent, Culture & Organizational Capability
- Lead compensation harmonization across Quest Integrity and In-Line Inspection Product teams while balancing competitiveness, affordability, retention and internal equity.
- Build leadership succession pipelines and organizational depth.
- Develop talent strategies that support future business growth and capability requirements.
- Foster a culture that reflects the best attributes of Quest Integrity, In-Line Inspection and Baker Hughes.
- Maintain high levels of employee engagement and retention throughout business transformation and integration efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated executive leadership experience in strategy, product management, portfolio leadership, commercial leadership, engineering leadership, business development or general management.
- Understanding of the In Line Inspection business
- Holds a balanced view of the In Line Inspection market and understands customers and competitors from multiple perspectives
- Ability to work with personnel of various backgrounds and capabilities
- Has the runway to replace the General Manager of the business and is astute with leading themselves, others and could grow into working across the enterprise
- Proven success leading large-scale business transformations, integrations or organizational redesign efforts.
- Strong experience leading Long-Range Planning, Annual Planning and Strategy Deployment processes.
- Strong commercial, operational and financial acumen.
- Track record of influencing executive stakeholders and leading within complex matrix organizations.
- Experience building organizations, developing leadership teams and leading through change.
- 10+ years relevant business experience. Experience in managing others for at least 2 years. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master level degree.
