Robinhood Social is building the first place active traders check: a network where every trade is real, backed by a real track record, so conviction is built on proof instead of hype. Since launching in 2026, the team has proven the feed is worth opening. Now the focus is on the harder problem of helping traders form real relationships around symbols, real-time market moments, and creators worth following. It’s a high-leverage, fast-moving product bet with a direct line to Robinhood-wide engagement. Our team is full-stack, spanning backend, mobile, and web engineers, and we work closely together across the stack to ship end-to-end features rather than working in silos.

As an Android Engineer on the Social team, you would build and improve Android experiences that help customers engage with investing in more social, creator-driven, and content-rich ways. You would contribute to features across feed and sharing experiences, onboarding flows, and creator-facing surfaces, partnering closely with backend, web, product, design, and data counterparts to ship end-to-end experiences. This role follows the Gen Eng Android foundation, with an emphasis on Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android architecture components, Gradle, and strong product-facing engineering fundamentals.

These teams are based in our New York office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do

• Work with a fast-growing team to revolutionize finance at speed and scale
• Build smooth, stable, and elegant products with Kotlin and the newest Android APIs
• Own features from inception to design, implementation, and launch
• Work cross-functionally with Product Designers, Product Managers, Backend Developers, and Data team
• Work with Kotlin, Android SDK & Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines & Flow (preferred) OR RxJava, and Retrofit & Room

What you bring

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience building consumer Android applications at scale, preferably in Kotlin and Compose
• Attention to detail, passion for writing clean, readable and maintainable code
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, and Jetpack
• Desire to improve Robinhood's app and codebase to ensure outstanding quality for our all users
• Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers
• Excellent communication skills and passion for solving technical challenges
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience also acceptable

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Base Pay Range:

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)

$166,000—$195,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$147,000—$172,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$130,000—$152,000 USD

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
