Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Associate Broker to join our growing Property team in Tampa. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in wholesale insurance brokerage and offers a unique opportunity to learn the business from experienced industry professionals while supporting a sophisticated portfolio of commercial Property accounts.
As a key member of the team, the Associate Broker will serve as the right hand to experienced Brokers, assisting with account servicing, endorsements, policy review, client solutions, carrier interactions, and new business support. Through hands-on training, structured development, and ongoing mentorship, the successful candidate will gain exposure to all aspects of the brokerage lifecycle and develop the technical, relationship management, and marketing skills needed to progress into an Inside Broker role.
Location: This role will be a fully on site position working 5 days a week in our Tampa office (3000 Bayport Drive Suite 300 Tampa, FL 33607)

Fast-Track Broker Development Opportunity:
This position is intentionally designed as a developmental role for individuals who aspire to become Brokers. Working alongside experienced Property Brokers, you will receive direct mentorship, hands-on training, and increasing levels of responsibility, allowing you to develop the technical expertise, market knowledge, and relationship-building skills necessary to advance into an Inside Broker position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a high-potential insurance professional or recent graduate looking to accelerate their career, gain exposure to complex Property risks, and become a client-facing broker in the wholesale insurance industry.
Job Responsibilities
Brokerage Support & Account Management
- Support Brokers in servicing commercial Property accounts by assisting with account management, policy administration, endorsements, renewals, and day-to-day client needs.
- Review policies, endorsements, binders, submissions, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with carrier and company standards.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in policy documentation and communicate necessary corrections to carriers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with processing new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes while maintaining high service standards and operational efficiency.
- Ensure quality control across all active and expired policies, endorsements, and account documentation.
Marketing & Carrier Engagement
- Prepare professional, accurate, and error-free submissions that effectively communicate risk characteristics, coverage needs, and client objectives.
- Assist in marketing new and renewal business to carriers and gathering competitive coverage and pricing options.
- Develop working relationships with underwriters and carrier partners within the Property insurance marketplace.
- Participate in carrier discussions regarding pricing, coverage enhancements, and account strategy.
- Learn market trends, underwriting practices, and carrier appetites to support successful account placement.
Client Service & Relationship Building
- Deliver responsive, professional customer service to clients, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Assist in developing creative insurance solutions that address client risk management needs.
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure seamless execution of service, marketing, and placement activities.
- Build strong working relationships through consistent communication, follow-through, and a client-focused approach.
- Communicate coverage terms, policy changes, endorsements, and documentation updates clearly and professionally.
Professional Development & Career Progression
- Participate in a structured career development program designed to prepare high-performing team members for advancement into an Inside Broker role.
- Shadow and partner with experienced Brokers to gain hands-on exposure to client management, carrier negotiations, risk analysis, and account marketing strategies.
- Demonstrate increasing ownership of account servicing, marketing efforts, carrier communications, and client interactions as part of ongoing professional development.
- Attend carrier meetings, training sessions, and educational opportunities to expand technical knowledge and market expertise.
- Pursue licensing, industry training, and professional development opportunities to support long-term career growth within brokerage.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interest in developing a long-term career in commercial insurance brokerage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Property & Casualty License required or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire.
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in the Tampa office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience supporting commercial Property insurance accounts.
- Exposure to underwriting, brokerage support, account management, carrier operations, or risk management.
- Internship or early-career experience within the insurance industry.
- Understanding of commercial Property insurance coverages, underwriting principles, and insurance terminology.
- Insurance designations or pursuit of professional certifications such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, or CISR.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients, underwriters, carriers, and business partners.

The target salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
