About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About the Role

Slack is looking for a Field CTO to serve as a technical and strategic extension of the CRO's office — a trusted voice who can represent Slack's product vision, technical architecture, and business value to our most important customers, prospects, and partners. This is not a traditional Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect role — it's a junior Chief Customer Officer: someone who blends deep technical credibility with sales acumen and product fluency, capable of stepping into rooms (executive briefings, board conversations, strategic account reviews) and representing Slack's point of view with authority.

What You'll Do

* Act as a trusted technical advisor and executive-level proxy in customer and prospect conversations, especially where the CRO cannot be personally present * Translate Slack's platform roadmap and architecture into business outcomes for CIOs, CTOs, and other technical decision-makers * Partner closely with sales leadership on strategic and enterprise deals — shaping technical win strategies, addressing platform/security/scale objections, and unblocking stalled evaluations * Serve as a feedback loop between the field and product/engineering — surfacing customer needs, competitive gaps, and platform requests that shape the roadmap * Represent Slack at industry events, executive forums, analyst briefings, and customer advisory boards * Build and maintain relationships with customer executive sponsors, ensuring technical trust underpins commercial relationships * Mentor and upskill account teams and sales engineers on technical storytelling and platform depth * Partner with product marketing and product management on positioning, competitive differentiation (e.g., vs. Microsoft Teams), and narrative development

What We're Looking For

* 10+ years of experience spanning technical pre-sales/solutions engineering, product management, or technical customer success, ideally in enterprise SaaS/collaboration software * Demonstrated ability to operate credibly in both technical (architecture, security, platform/APIs) and commercial (deal strategy, forecasting, executive relationship-building) conversations * Executive presence — comfortable presenting to C-suite audiences and representing leadership externally * Strong product instincts — able to speak fluently about roadmap trade-offs and translate customer pain into product requirements * A track record of influencing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals * Willingness to travel extensively to be "in the field" with sales teams and customers * Bonus: experience with Slack's platform (Workflow Builder, Slack Connect, Enterprise Grid, AI/Agentforce integrations, APIs) or comparable collaboration/communication platforms

Reporting

This role reports directly into the CRO's organization and works cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success leadership.
