Pharmacy Technician II Job Description The Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for assisting Pharmacists in all aspects of pharmaceutical care including processing and distribution of all drug and IV orders. Department: Pharmacy Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required Required: High School Diploma, IL Pharmacy Tech License within 60 days of hire, Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of License. Pay: based on experience, starting at $16.94 an hour $1,000 Sign on bonus Responsibilities Answers the door and telephone. Assists customers with inquires, questions and concerns., Checks pharmacy stock for drugs that need to be reordered or labeled. Restocks IV room supplies and ER take home medication for Pyxis drawer., Completes General Employee Orientation, On-Line Interactive Education (OLIE), and All other Competency assessments related to the position of Pharmacy Technician., Is USP-797 Compliant: Including weekly IV samples, Monthly clean room samples and maintenance of clean room., Maintains a clean and uncluttered work environment., Makes required entries into ALL Pharmacy Technician Accountability Logs., Makes scheduled runs to the floor in a timely manner., Monitors assigned section for outdated drugs. (Both in pharmacy and Assigned Nursing Station)., Packages unit dose medications, makes medication bar code flags. Credits returned medications and re-shelves it in the proper location., Performs daily duties supporting clinical efforts including IV to Oral report, Pneumonia Vaccine, Coumadin log, etc., Prepares chemotherapy and T.P.N. orders., Prints batch labels as needed (i.e., irrigation, ER-home, etc.), Processes charges and credits of medications as appropriate., Processes departmental paperwork as needed., Processes IV orders. Prepares IVs using the proper aseptic technique., Processes medication orders accurately and in a timely manner. Files processed orders upon completion., Reconciles returned anesthesia narcotics., Restocks Pharmacy Crash Cart Boxes when received from Central Sterile., Restocks Pyxis units using the PARX system. Delivers meds to Pyxis units.
