Full Stack TypeScript Engineer – Next.js & AI

This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.

As the company continues to develop its technology infrastructure and digital products, they are seeking a Full Stack TypeScript Engineer – Next.js & AI to build and maintain scalable applications across both frontend and backend systems.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Full Stack TypeScript Engineer – Next.js & AI will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving web applications across both frontend and backend systems.

The Full Stack TypeScript Engineer – Next.js & AI will build responsive user interfaces using Next.js and React, develop backend functionality using TypeScript, Convex, and serverless functions, and integrate Claude LLM APIs to create AI-powered features and automated workflows.

This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving technical problems, working across the entire application stack, and experimenting with modern AI technologies to build reliable and scalable products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FRONTEND DEVELOPMENT

- Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces using Next.js 16 with App Router, React 19, and TypeScript.

- Build modern web experiences using Tailwind CSS 4.

- Implement animations and interactive experiences using Framer Motion.

- Ensure applications perform reliably across different devices and browsers.

- Build reusable and maintainable frontend components.

- Optimize frontend performance, responsiveness, and overall user experience.

- Integrate frontend applications with backend services, APIs, and real-time data.

- Support AI-driven frontend experiences, including dynamic content and personalization.

BACKEND DEVELOPMENT

- Develop and maintain backend functionality primarily using TypeScript.

- Build backend services using Convex real-time database and serverless functions.

- Design and implement scalable APIs and database integrations.

- Develop systems capable of supporting real-time data processing and application updates.

- Integrate backend services with frontend applications and external platforms.

- Troubleshoot backend issues and continuously improve system reliability and performance.

AI INTEGRATION & AUTOMATION

- Integrate Claude LLM APIs into applications and backend workflows.

- Develop AI-powered functionality that supports automation, data processing, and dynamic application experiences.

- Build workflows that use AI to improve internal processes and application capabilities.

- Implement AI-driven features for content generation, personalization, and customer engagement.

- Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI into existing and future application functionality.

- Maintain strong quality control when implementing AI-generated or AI-assisted functionality.

FULL STACK APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

- Own development tasks across frontend and backend systems.

- Ensure seamless communication and data flow between application layers.

- Build complete application features from user interface through backend functionality.

- Collaborate with design, product, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into working features.

- Maintain scalable and maintainable application architecture.

- Identify technical issues and implement practical solutions across the stack.

TESTING & DEBUGGING

- Test frontend and backend functionality before deployment.

- Debug application issues and identify root causes across the technology stack.

- Implement automated testing and quality assurance practices where appropriate.

- Identify and resolve performance, integration, and reliability issues.

- Use modern development and AI-assisted tools to improve debugging and development efficiency.

- Maintain high standards for application stability and code quality.

DOCUMENTATION & COLLABORATION

- Maintain clear technical documentation across frontend, backend, database, API, and AI integrations.

- Use Git and established version-control practices to manage code changes.

- Collaborate effectively with product, design, and technical stakeholders.

- Communicate technical progress, requirements, and potential blockers clearly.

- Participate in technical discussions and contribute recommendations when appropriate.

- Help maintain development standards and best practices as the technology stack evolves.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

- 2+ years of professional full stack development experience.

- Experience developing both frontend and backend web applications.

- Experience building and shipping production web applications.

- Experience developing APIs and integrating applications with databases and external services.

- Experience working with real-time data or serverless architectures is strongly preferred.

- Experience integrating AI or LLM functionality into applications is preferred.

SKILLS

- Strong proficiency with TypeScript.

- Hands-on experience with Next.js and App Router.

- Strong experience developing applications with React.

- Experience with Tailwind CSS or comparable modern CSS frameworks.

- Experience implementing frontend animations using Framer Motion or similar technologies.

- Experience with Convex or comparable real-time database technologies.

- Experience developing and working with serverless functions.

- Strong understanding of API development and integrations.

- Experience working with real-time data and database integrations.

- Familiarity with Claude LLM APIs or comparable LLM APIs.

- Understanding of AI-powered application development and workflow automation.

- Experience using Git and established version-control practices.

- Strong debugging, testing, and technical problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

- Ability to work across frontend and backend systems and independently troubleshoot issues.
