Overview:
The Senior Director, Cardiology Clinical Operations functions as the senior non-physician executive leader for a significant segment of Sentara Medical Group’s clinical operations. Directs and oversees the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across a substantial portfolio of ambulatory practices, hospital-based practices, and diagnostic service locations within a geographic region and/or clinical service line. Provides leadership and oversight to Directors, Practice Managers, and Team Coordinators to ensure operational excellence, clinical integration, workforce effectiveness, and exceptional patient outcomes.
Leads the development and execution of strategic and operational initiatives that advance clinical quality, patient safety, access to care, provider and staff engagement, care coordination, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and continuous performance improvement. Partners closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and administrative teams to optimize clinical workflows, standardize best practices, improve patient experience, and support the achievement of organizational quality, service, and population health objectives. Maintains accountability for operational performance, resource stewardship, workforce development, and the effective delivery of care across the continuum.
