About this Role

The CNC Machinist is responsible for manufacturing, modifying, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine components to support production and maintenance needs. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

· Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM, etc.) to produce or repair tooling components.

· Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, CAD files, and written/verbal instructions.

· Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part accuracy.

· Maintain, sharpen, and repair cutting tools, dies, fixtures, and molds.

· Modify and adapt existing tooling to meet updated specifications or production needs.

· Troubleshoot tooling issues and collaborate with engineers, maintenance, and production teams to implement solutions.

· Ensure all machining work meets required quality standards and tolerances.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety and housekeeping standards.

· Track and document work performed, tooling changes, and maintenance history.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.

· Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a machinist, preferably in a tool room or precision machining environment.

· Experience with 5-Axis, Market Cam, G-Code.

· Experience with MasterCam

· Proficient in the setup and operation of manual and CNC machines.

· Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling.

· Ability to hold tight tolerances (±.0005” or better).

· Skilled in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.

· Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software is an asset.

· Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

· Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
