Position Highlights
The Surgery/Outpatient Registered Nurse is required to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in role as an RN. The Surgery RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for the patient and assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her own actions and outcomes of patient care delivered. The Outpatient RN provides nursing assistance in specialty clinics, performs infusions, chemotherapy and processes prior authorizations for services as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university school of nursing preferred, but not required.
- Six months to one year of operating room nursing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, but not required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current valid Iowa RN license required.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification within one year of employment.
- Annual influenza vaccinations are mandatory for all employees by December 1, unless a medical waiver is signed and approved.
- Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse course for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 30 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter
