ROLE SUMMARY

As China Innovation Hub Leader, you will lead Specialized’s China-based innovation and engineering strategy for Turbo E-Bike systems. You act as a a key strategic interface between global Turbo engineering teams and key technology partners in Asia, with a primary focus on the China ecosystem, driving innovation, strengthening supplier integration, and contributing to technology direction and product competitiveness.

This role plays a critical role in enabling Turbo system development through close collaboration with suppliers, combines hands-on technical leadership, strategic thinking, and team leadership to accelerate development and unlock innovation opportunities with the E-Bike ecosystem while ensuring strong alignment with global product and technology strategies.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and develop a high-performing Turbo Engineering team in China, fostering strong technical standards, collaboration, and innovation
• Provide clear prioritization, direction, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with global engineering objectives

• Build and strengthen engineering capabilities in China aligned with global standards and long-term functional needs

Engineering & Innovation

• Lead China-based engineering programs across Turbo E‑Bike systems, including motors, batteries, HMI, and system integration
• Drive system-level development and performance improvements through cross-functional engineering collaboration
• Translate benchmarking insights and market intelligence into actionable recommendations for innovation and product roadmap development
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and concepts within the China ecosystem

Supplier & Partner Collaboration

• Lead strategic technical engagement with key suppliers across Asia, with a strong focus on China-based partners.
• Drive alignment on development priorities, performance requirements, quality standards, and timelines
• Influence supplier capabilities, innovation direction, and long-term partnership effectiveness
• Strengthen relationships to enable speed, transparency, and continuous improvement

Global Alignment & Influence

• Partner closely with global engineering, product, and sourcing teams to align priorities and execution
• Provide strategic recommendations and technical insights that influence product decisions and technology direction
• Contribute to global development programs by supporting prioritization, risk mitigation, and innovation advancement
• Act as a key interface between China ecosystem insights and global engineering strategy

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN:

• Proven experience in engineering leadership within e‑mobility, automotive, electronics, or high‑performance consumer products.
• Strong technical background in E‑Bike systems, powertrains, batteries, electronics, or system engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategy and drive innovation in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Experience leading and developing small, high‑impact engineering teams.
• Hands‑on experience working with Asian suppliers, preferably in China, including on‑site development and serial production support.
• Strong system-level thinking with the ability to connect technical solutions to broader product and business outcomes
• Excellent cross‑cultural communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization.
