The Role (Remote)

The purpose of this role is to perform financial accounting activities for European countries.

The role will be responsible for General Ledger accounting and month end close activities and ensuring its compliance with Accounting Policies, J-SOX and Internal Procedures.

The role will interact with Finance Managers, Hitachi Treasury Center, FP&A and Controllership teams, Finance Global Business Services teams, external and internal auditors.

The role is also responsible for identifying continuous improvement initiatives to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all financial transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. The tasks include:

• Monthly accruals and prepayments
• Payroll accounting
• Monthly and quarterly reporting
• Journal processing
• Intercompany accounting
• Inventory accounting
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and problem solving
• Month-end close process management
• Initiating and contributing to the improvements of processes
• Support internal and external audits
• Support implementation of SAP S/4 HANA

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance
• 3+ years of experience in financial accounting
• Working knowledge of IFRS and J-SOX
• ACCA or CIMA would be an asset
• Fluent English
• SAP knowledge would be an asset
• Computer literate, MS Office, especially Excel
• High level of accuracy / attention to detail
• Practical, hands-on mentality, strong delivery attitude
• Experience in multinational sector preferred
• Continuous Improvement mindset and experience
• Team player attitude
