Job Description Summary: Responsible for the overall planning and management of drywall self-perform estimating activities, including preparing, analyzing, and presenting detailed cost estimates for framing, hanging, taping, and finishing scopes on commercial construction projects. Job Description: POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Perform all standard Estimator responsibilities with a focus on Drywall, metal framing, insulation and acoustical ceilings. Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to fully understand the self-perform drywall scope. Prepare detailed and accurate quantity takeoffs, labor productivity analysis, and material pricing for drywall-related scopes. Evaluate and coordinated subcontractor and supplier quotes for materials such as drywall, framing and finishes. Determine labor rates, crew compositions, and equipment costs for self-perform field teams. Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates during preconstruction and at various design stages. Maintain and meet bidding schedules, ensuring timely submission of estimates and proposals. Prepare and submit material requisitions and purchase requests for drywall self-perform work. Collaborate with the Project Manager and Field Superintendent to review takeoffs, labor budgets, and constructability before bid submission. Manage and secure all bid documents, drawings, and quote letters relevant to the drywall scope. Participate in bid day preparation, verifying the accuracy of pricing and quantities. Support field teams post-award with clarifications, budget breakdowns, and scope handoffs. perform post-bid buyouts and material analysis to confirm pricing and delivery logistics. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors in the drywall and building materials market. Mentor and assist junior estimators or team members, sharing best practices in drywall estimating and project budgeting. Complete other duties as assigned in support of the Self-Perform team's estimating and operational goals. MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, OR equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum 5 years Commercial Drywall Estimating experience • Proficient with OST (On Screen Takeoff), QuickBid and Bluebeam • Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings • Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations • Working knowledge of construction costs and principles • Ability foster a collaborative work environment by actively engaging with team members sharing, and supporting collective goals to achieve high-quality results. • Estimating experience (quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting; engineering design knowledge and project management experience desirable) Welcome to Swinerton—Building Excellence Since 1888 Swinerton is a 100% employee-owned construction company with a legacy of shaping skylines, transforming communities, and delivering award-winning projects across the United States.
