Java Developer – ETFs, Investment Management & Spring Boot

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a Senior Java Developer – ETF Domain with 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience and strong knowledge of Exchange-Traded Funds, capital markets, investment management, and ETF lifecycle processes. The role will focus on designing, developing, integrating, and supporting enterprise applications for ETF creation and redemption, fund accounting, portfolio management, trading operations, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting. This position contributes to business objectives by delivering scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that support investment management workflows and financial market operations.

Software Requirements

Required

• Java: 5+ years of hands-on development experience using Java; practical experience with Java 8, 11, or 17.
• Spring Boot and Spring MVC: Experience developing enterprise applications, REST services, and microservices.
• REST APIs and JSON: Experience designing, developing, consuming, testing, and supporting RESTful APIs and JSON-based integrations.
• Microservices: Experience designing or developing microservices-based applications and service integrations.

Overall Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support scalable Java applications for ETF and investment management business processes.
• Translate ETF business requirements into technical solutions, detailed designs, development tasks, and testable acceptance outcomes.
• Develop and support applications related to ETF creation and redemption, fund accounting, NAV calculations, portfolio management, trading operations, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting.
• Build, consume, and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JSON, and approved integration patterns.
• Integrate applications with market data sources, trading platforms, portfolio management systems, and other financial systems.
• Design and implement reliable data and messaging flows using Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, or comparable technologies.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java services and applications supporting ETF creation and redemption, portfolio management, fund accounting, trading operations, analytics, and reporting.
• Participate in requirements discussions, technical design reviews, Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing activities, and collaboration with business and cross-functional technology teams.
• Build and support REST APIs, microservices, messaging flows, database integrations, market data connections, and third-party financial system interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.

• Demonstrated experience with Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, microservices, REST APIs, SQL, messaging technologies, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Relevant training or certifications in Java development, cloud technologies, Agile delivery, capital markets, investment management, or related areas are preferred.
