POSITIION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex SAP initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional programs, managing delivery teams and vendor partners, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the successful implementation of SAP solutions that support enterprise operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program and project management, coupled with experience delivering SAP programs in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.

WORK LOCATION:

Travel to client sites may be required up to 100%, based on project demands and client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP programs and strategic initiatives from planning through deployment and stabilization.
  • Establish program governance, project plans, budgets, timelines, and reporting processes.
  • Manage multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, dependency management, and executive-level escalations.
  • Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to align program objectives and priorities.
  • Oversee SAP implementation, enhancement, integration, and transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery milestones, quality standards, and business objectives are achieved.
  • Provide regular program status updates and executive communications to key stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships, system integrators, and third-party consulting partners.
  • Support organizational change management, user adoption, and transition to operations.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations, quality standards, and validation requirements.
  • Foster collaboration across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
  • Promote continuous improvement and adoption of project management best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field required.

Technical Experience

  • 10+ years of experience within the Pharma/Biopharma, Medical Device, or Biotechnology industry, including at least 5+ years leading large-scale SAP programs, ERP implementations, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end SAP project delivery, including implementations, upgrades, enhancements, migrations, and/or SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
  • Experience using MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and project portfolio management tools to manage complex programs and executive reporting.
  • Experience working within cGMP and FDA-regulated environments, with an understanding of validation, compliance, and quality requirements impacting SAP systems.
  • Experience leading large cross-functional SAP programs and coordinating business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, system integrators, and external consulting partners.
  • Experience establishing program governance, managing budgets, schedules, risks, dependencies, and executive communications across multiple workstreams.
  • Life sciences experience required with demonstrated success delivering technology solutions that support Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Procurement, or other enterprise business functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred; SAP-related certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Diligent with strong executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to provide clear program updates to senior leadership and steering committees.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical business processes and the role of SAP in supporting Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and other enterprise functions.
  • Strong understanding of SAP program delivery, systems deployment, integration, business process transformation, requirements management, risk management, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to align cross-functional stakeholders, manage multiple workstreams, and drive successful outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
  • Comfortable leading the use of PM tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet, and SAP reporting tools) to track program performance, risks, and KPIs.
  • Experience managing SAP implementation partners, third-party vendors, and geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Enjoys clarifying ambiguity, solving complex business and technology challenges, and driving user adoption during large-scale SAP deployments and transformations.

COMPENSATION:

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 yearly. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
