Role Overview
The RF Power Project Development team is responsible for the development and delivery of next generation future products within the RF Power division portfolio. Although this is a multi-disciplined team, this role focuses on the test and evaluation of high-power RF products and systems, alongside application support.
As a Test and Applications Engineer within the RF Power Division at Teledyne e2v, you will play a pivotal role in the development, testing, and application support of advanced RF power products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure product performance meets stringent industry standards and customer requirements.
Main Accountabilities
This role would suit a production test engineer with hands on experience of performing measurements, fault finding and test processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering, or equivalent experience working within a professional engineering development / production environment.
Knowledge of RF testing, measurements, and applications support. Proven ability to work from instructions and procedures.
Proficiency with RF test equipment (spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators) and interpreting results.
Comfortable working in a small engineering team and supporting others.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and customer support.
Proactive approach with a keen attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of magnetron and travelling wave tube operation.
A working knowledge of RF (radio frequency) principles and ability to undertake RF power monitoring system (PMS) measurements. Further understanding of RF measurement techniques and results interpretation would be an advantage.
Knowledge of high voltage testing in particular electrical safety.
Experience of complete product life cycle design, encompassing original development from concept through to final design and customer handover.
Familiarisation of BS EN61010 electrical safety standard and Low Voltage directive 2014/34/EU.
