General Job Description

The Loader is responsible for transferring the finished mattress and foundations units, into a semi-trailer for delivery to the retail customer. The finished units are loaded into the semi-trailer based on the delivery schedule (units to be delivered first are loaded into the trailer last.)

The Loader moves wheeled carts of finished units to the trailer loading area. The Loader then wheels the cart into the trailer and moves the finished units off the cart into the trailer in an upright position or may pull the finished units off the cart outside the trailer and transfers them into the trailer in an upright position. As the trailer becomes full, the Loader may have to lift the finished units and lay them horizontally across the upright finished units to maximize the load size.

Physical Job Duties

NOTE: Based on an 8-hour workday - “Occasional” = 1% -33%, “Frequent” = 33% to 66%, “Continuous”= 66% - 100%

• Continuous standing and walking.
• Continuous pushing and pulling a wheeled cart containing the finished units.
• Frequent pushing and pulling the finished units off the wheeled cart into the trailer.
• Frequent overhead lifting, pushing and pulling when loading finished units horizontally on top of upright units in the trailer.
