Position: Snowflake Architect and Developer

Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Architect and Developer to lead the design, administration, and optimization of our Snowflake cloud data platform.

In this role, the Snowflake Data Architect will design and manage our organization’s data infrastructure, including databases, data lakes, data warehouses and data pipelines from ingestion to consumption, and is responsible for creating a framework that defines how data is stored, provisioned, organized, integrated, secured and accessed across the organization, ensuring that data is structured in a way that supports the organization’s goals and enables efficient data analysis and decision-making processes.

This role will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver a scalable, secure, high-performance data environment that supports our analytics and AI initiatives.

Essential Functions:

• Design, configure, and maintain Snowflake environments across development, staging, and production.
• Manage virtual warehouses, resource monitors, and auto-scaling policies to control cost and performance.
• Administer RBAC, network policies, SSO/SAML integrations, and data masking policies.
• Monitor platform health, set up alerting, and drive incident response for data availability issues.
• Plan and execute Snowflake version upgrades and patch cycles.
• Design and develop efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, tasks, streams, and dynamic tables.
• Architect and maintain data models (star/snowflake schemas, data vault) within Snowflake.
• Build and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines using Snowpark (Python/Java/Scala) or partner tools (dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, ADF).
• Implement Snowflake features including zero-copy cloning, time travel, data sharing, and Marketplace integrations.
• Develop and maintain Snowflake Native Apps or Streamlit in Snowflake dashboards where required.
• Conduct query profiling and tuning using the Query Profile UI, EXPLAIN plans, and search optimization.
• Design and manage clustering keys, materialized views, and result cache strategies.
• Perform regular cost attribution analysis; recommend and implement savings opportunities.
• Establish and enforce development standards and best practices across the data team
• Identifying data sources, both internal and external, and working out a plan for data management that is aligned with organizational data strategy.
• Support Enterprise Data Architecture roadmap by managing architectural runway for enterprise data model and relevant enterprise data platform capabilities.
• Help develop standards and best practices for data modelling, databases, ETL/ELT and Analytics
• Provide technical oversight and guidance on database architecture decision making
• Define and implement data governance policies and standards
• Conducting a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders
• Stay informed of emerging data technologies and recommend solutions for enterprise adoption
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across disparate sources.
• Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes.
• Understand data security best practices and implement appropriate safeguards.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions for data management.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across IT and business functions.
• Mentor and guide junior data architects and data engineers.
• Manage and prioritize data architecture projects within budget and timelines.
• Develop and maintain project documentation for future reference.
• Track Compute Usage progress and report on key metrics to leadership.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Must be fluent in English (Read, Speak, and Write)
• Proven experience in various RDBMS, Data Appliances, No SQL Databases, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, Data Quality, Data Cataloging, Data Classification, implementing data warehousing solutions.
• SnowPro Core Certification is a plus.
