Summary Description: Reporting to the Supervisor, the Pre-Press Technician/Graphic Designer plays an integral role in supporting and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. This position works collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient and high-quality production while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and work ethic. Position: Pre-Press Technician/Graphic Designer

Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
What you’ll be doing:
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro, to prepare and optimize artwork for production.
- Manipulate and modify vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator, including editing graphics and text, adding trapping, and adjusting other design elements.
- Prepare complex illustrations and photographic layouts for production, including arranging digital artwork, creating color proofs, working with prepared die shapes, creating bleeds, and setting up step-and-repeat functions.
- Use Adobe Photoshop to perform color corrections, image retouching, and other photo-editing tasks required during the pre-press process.
- Conduct thorough preflight inspections of graphic files to identify and resolve potential production issues before files move into manufacturing.
- Inspect finished printing plates for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet production standards before releasing them to the printing department.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to maintain accuracy, quality, and consistency throughout the pre-press process.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- Associate degree, college degree, or vocational certificate in Graphic Design or a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience in graphic design and/or pre-press preferred; entry-level candidates with strong design skills are encouraged to apply and may be considered for training.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Experience working in both Mac and PC environments, with a strong preference for Mac experience.
- Familiarity with Esko software plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator, as well as Esko plate-making equipment, FAST system, and ESKO CDI, is a plus.
- Knowledge of variable data printing and experience managing a traceback database system is a plus.
- Previous experience or knowledge of the printing industry, plate making, pre-press, pressroom operations, or a related manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to quality and accuracy.
