OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.

YOUR MISSION

As the Fixed Asset Accountant at True Anomaly, you will own the integrity, visibility, and control processes for the company’s fixed assets across our locations in Colorado, California, and the Washington, DC area. Sitting at the intersection of Finance, Operations, Facilities, Procurement, Information Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other business teams, you will ensure that capital investments and other trackable assets are accurately recorded, properly tracked, and reported throughout their lifecycle.

This role is critical to building scalable fixed asset accounting and asset-tracking processes that support True Anomaly’s growth and operational complexity. You will maintain accurate asset records, reconcile fixed asset activity to the general ledger, support monthly and year-end close, monitor construction-in-progress and capital projects, coordinate physical inventories, and provide reliable reporting for internal stakeholders and auditors.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly accountable problem solver who can bring structure to complex, multi-location asset data and build strong partnerships across the organization. If you thrive in an environment where you can identify gaps, improve processes, establish effective controls, and take ownership of accurate financial and operational information, this role is for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate and complete fixed asset records for all True Anomaly locations, including property, buildings, leasehold improvements, machinery, equipment, furniture, vehicles, technology, and other capital assets.
  • Record and monitor fixed asset additions, transfers, disposals, retirements, impairments, and write-offs in accordance with True Anomaly policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Review capital expenditures and supporting documentation to determine whether costs should be capitalized or expensed.
  • Establish asset records and maintain information such as asset identification number, location, department, custodian, acquisition date, in-service date, cost, useful life, and depreciation method.
  • Calculate, record, and reconcile monthly depreciation and amortization expense.
  • Monitor construction-in-progress and other capital projects, including the timely transfer of completed projects to the appropriate fixed asset categories.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports, schedules, roll-forwards, and management analysis.
  • Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate fixed asset accounting and tracking activities across True Anomaly’s locations in Colorado, California, and the Washington, DC area.
  • Partner with Facilities, Operations, Procurement, Information Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Real Estate, and other departments to track transfers, disposals, and changes in status.
  • Coordinate periodic physical inventories and audits of fixed assets at True Anomaly locations.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for capital purchases, disposals, transfers, and other fixed asset transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the accounting and reporting of asset-related leases, tenant improvements, and other location-based capital projects, as applicable.
  • Review fixed asset transactions for compliance with capitalization thresholds, useful-life guidelines, approval requirements, and internal controls.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of capital expenditures and depreciation expense.
  • Support the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of fixed asset modules within True Anomaly’s ERP or accounting systems.
  • Support the accounting, tracking, and control of government-furnished property or customer-owned property, as applicable.
  • Perform other accounting, reporting, and finance-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three years of progressive accounting experience, including direct experience with fixed asset accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles, capitalization policies, depreciation, disposals, impairments, and asset reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting policies consistently across multiple locations.
