Position Description:
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Louisville Medical Center is seeking a full-time BE/BC fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Trauma surgeon with a focus in high energy trauma. The division currently includes four full-time Orthopaedic Trauma surgeons and four Advanced Practice Providers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a regional referral center with a Level 1 Trauma program. The qualified candidate will be a full-time faculty member of the University of Louisville Medical Center and hold an academic rank within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at University of Louisville School of Medicine.

UofL Health – UofL Hospital – J. David Richardson Trauma Center has a long-standing history of being the local, regional and national leader for trauma and burn care in Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Last year alone, our trauma center provided care for over 3,600 patients who needed the highly-specialized services of our multi-disciplinary trauma program. We are the region’s only American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified Level I trauma center for adults and we are one of only two Level I adult trauma centers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Additionally, we are the region’s only Level I burn unit.
UofL Hospital is an academic teaching and research hospital, located in the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. Part of the downtown medical campus, UofL Hospital is quite literally at the center of the latest developments in patient care.
Our world-renowned trauma center admits more than 3,000 patients each year, including 1,500 patients a year who live outside Jefferson County and its surrounding counties — making it a resource not only for Louisville residents, but also for people throughout Kentuckiana.
