Tracheostomy Educator
Provides specialized tracheostomy support, continuing education, teaching, training and discharge planning for patients, patient families, nurses and clinical staff. Acts as an expert resource for patients, family members and other clinical and nursing staff. Coordinates patient, patient family and staff education opportunities through group demonstrations, lectures, one-on-one coaching and training. Performs job duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:
Valid RN or RT License, Basic Life Support (BLS)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of tracheostomy care, procedures, and protocols, along with strong presentation and training abilities, excellent verbal and written communication, and well-developed interpersonal skills; proficient in computer systems, tools, and programs, and capable of effectively collaborating in a team environment.
