Senior Software Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer / Software Development Lead who combines strong technical expertise with sound engineering judgement. You will contribute to architectural decisions, mentor developers, and help shape the technical direction of our platforms while remaining hands-on with development.

This is not a role focused on maintaining legacy software. You will play a key part in designing and building scalable financial products from the ground up, working with modern architectures, microservices, cloud-native technologies, and high-availability systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote engineering best practices and identify opportunities to improve development quality, efficiency, and scalability
• Support and mentor other developers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing
• Design, develop, and enhance modern .NET services powering our core fintech platform
• Build secure, scalable APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Develop and maintain microservices using asynchronous communication and message brokers
• Improve the reliability, resilience, observability, and performance of existing services
• Participate in solution architecture, technical design, estimation, decomposition, and code reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software in an agile environment
• Engineer high-availability solutions suitable for mission-critical financial systems
• Optimise database performance, transactions, and data access strategies
• Maintain and continuously improve existing applications while contributing to new product development

Talent Profile:

Essential

• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience developing applications with .NET/.NET Core
• Strong experience designing and building backend services and REST APIs
• Excellent understanding of relational databases, transactions, indexing, and query optimisation
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles including SOLID, KISS, and DRY
• Experience working with asynchronous architectures, message brokers, and messaging patterns such as Outbox, Inbox, and Saga
• Experience participating in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical solution design
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and spoken English (Intermediate level or above)

Desirable

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience building high-load, highly available, or distributed systems
• Full-stack development experience
• Experience with React
• Familiarity with MongoDB
• Previous experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives
