Arizona Canine Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (ACOSM) is seeking an ACVS board-certified veterinary surgeon (or residency-trained surgeon nearing board certification) to join our growing team as we expand into a 4-surgeon specialty practice.

This is a rare opportunity to join an established, orthopedics-exclusive referral hospital dedicated to advancing veterinary orthopedic surgery. As we continue investing in our team, technology, and infrastructure, you'll have the opportunity to focus on increasingly complex and rewarding cases alongside three experienced, ACVS board-certified surgeons.

• Uncompromising Clinical Excellence. Practice advanced orthopedic medicine alongside three ACVS board-certified surgeons with expertise spanning arthroscopy, trauma, fracture fixation, reconstructive surgery, arthroplasty, and total hip replacement. Clinical capabilities include advanced implants and fixation systems, intraoperative imaging, 2D and 3D surgical planning, and a highly trained orthopedic support team.
• Client, Student, Referring Veterinarian & Specialist Education. Education is embedded in how we practice — from one-hour new-patient consultations centered on client education to teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with referring veterinarians, students, and specialists. Our surgeons are actively involved as instructors, presenters, moderators, and consultants through ACVS, VOS, the University of Arizona, Midwestern University, and industry partners.
• Orthopedic Innovation, Research & Publication. ACOSM is committed to advancing the field, not simply practicing within it. Our surgeons have contributed to original and award-winning research, clinical case reports, total hip design and innovation, intraoperative imaging techniques, and patient-specific 3D planning, bone models, osteotomy guides, and reduction guides.

New-patient consultations are structured to provide meaningful time with the surgeon — reviewing imaging, discussing treatment and surgical options, explaining procedures and recovery, and providing thoughtful postoperative follow-up. • Collaboration, Mentorship & Professional Growth. Work alongside experienced surgeons, technicians, support staff, industry experts, and key opinion leaders in an environment that encourages case discussion, shared learning, mentorship, and continuous clinical advancement.

REQUIREMENTS

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college
• Active Arizona veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain)
• ACVS board-certified veterinary surgeon or residency-trained surgeon nearing board certification
• Passion for advanced orthopedic surgery and sports medicine
• Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for mentoring and lifelong learning
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the continued growth and future of ACOSM

Arizona Canine Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is in Scottsdale, Arizona, within the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. ACOSM combines a highly specialized clinical environment with the opportunity to live and practice in one of the country's fastest-growing metropolitan areas, with year-round outdoor recreation, dining, entertainment, and convenient access to destinations throughout Arizona and the Southwest.

HELP BUILD WHAT’S NEXT

ACOSM is entering its next phase of growth, with plans that include facility expansion, CT capabilities, recruitment of an additional surgeon, development as a Total Hip Replacement (THR) Center of Excellence, and OrthoUrgent Care.
