Contract Tutor

Job Summary

Responsibilities: • Provide individual and or group tutoring to VTEC students • Offer assistance with developing academic success strategies • Work with the tutee to develop a tutoring plan that fits the student’s individual needs • Prepare tutoring sessions to ensure the tutee’s academic development • Assess the tutee’s progress throughout tutoring sessions • Participate in tutor training and development sessions • Communicate with parents and teachers • Track and monitor tutee’s grades Required Skills: • Verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrate knowledge and competence in specific subject matters • Be able to explain concepts to others effectively • Effectively communicate study strategies to ensure academic success • Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds • Possess good organizational skills and complete paperwork in a timely manner • Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree obtained • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and/or Teaching Credential(s) preferred
