About the location:

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort is looking for a Commercial Director, who shares passion for excellence and to provide excitement in everything you do. In this position you will direct and oversee all commercial and marketing activities with the support of teams including, Sales, Catering, Conference Services, Public Relations and Revenue Management for the Resort and ensure that all activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the commercial strategy for one of Four Seasons' most distinctive properties, where luxury is defined by intimacy, personalization and freedom rather than traditional resort conventions. With just 15 luxury tented bungalows and a highly individualized guest experience, Naviva offers an environment more akin to an exceptional boutique property than a traditional resort. The Commercial Director will play an important role in shaping how Naviva reaches guests, builds demand and brings its distinctive experiences to life through creative partnerships, compelling programming, targeted activations and innovative approaches to the luxury travel market.

This is a hands-on commercial leadership role for someone who is energized by the intimacy, agility and creativity of a small, highly specialized luxury property. The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely across departments, developing ideas and turning them into meaningful guest-facing experiences and commercially impactful initiatives. This is not a planning committee role; it requires an active leader who will drive strategy through execution and be directly engaged in bringing the commercial vision to life.

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort is an intimate, adults-only luxury retreat set across 48 acres of coastal forest on Mexico's Pacific coast, with just 15 luxury tented bungalows. Requirements:

  • Education: 3 year university/college degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years of employment in a related position
  • Skills and Abilities: Requires strong revenue and budget management skills
  • Work Location: Candidates may be based on property in Punta Mita, Mexico, or home-based in the United States or Mexico.
  • Travel required: Regular
  • Hours required: Scheduled days and times may vary based on need.

We expect from you:

  • Recruit, select and familiarise marketing department personnel with the Resort and their functions.
  • Train and guide marketing department personnel in the performance of their duties as to specific position responsibilities, performance techniques, reporting procedures, etc.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and follow up with marketing department personnel.
  • The ability to build a positive working environment.
  • Implement activities that positively impact Resort RevPAR performance.
  • Review and monitor competitive hotels and resorts so as to formulate recommendations on product, programming and service enhancements to remain competitive.
  • Identify sources of business available to the Resort and establish priority marketing opportunities in the solicitation of that business.
  • Develop and implement the Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with other departments particularly those with mutual guest contact.
  • Develop special promotional programs, guest activations and partnerships to stimulate trial, create awareness and generate revenue.
  • Develop the advertising and business promotion budget in conjunction with the Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Identify creative opportunities to bring Naviva's distinctive experiences, programming and points of difference to new and existing audiences.
  • Develop innovative commercial initiatives that strengthen Naviva's positioning within the luxury travel market and drive qualified demand for the Resort.
  • Actively engage with Resort leadership and operational teams to translate commercial strategies into tangible guest experiences, programming and activations.
