Job Description:

Summary/Objective

The Environmental Compliance Specialist / Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental regulations while overseeing facility infrastructure, maintenance activities, contractor management, and capital improvement projects. This position supports safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations by managing environmental programs, facility assets, regulatory reporting, and maintenance initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure contractors comply with site safety and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and incident investigations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and environmental stewardship

Facilities Management

  • Lead capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
  • Prepare project scopes, cost estimates, justifications, and funding requests.
  • Coordinate contractors, schedules, and resources to ensure successful project execution.
  • Track project milestones, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility reliability, efficiency, ergonomics, and environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams to resolve facility and environmental issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic technology of area where assigned.
  • Analytical ability for solving complex problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
  • Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, RCRA, SPCC, stormwater, wastewater, and air permit regulations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in responsibility based on business needs.
  • Experience managing contractors, facility projects, and maintenance programs.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and organizational skills.

Educational Requirements: Environmental Compliance Degree or equivalent
