Senior Manager, Insights Consulting - Food & Consumables (Walmart Brands)

Position Summary...

Role summary: The Senior Manager, Insights Consulting leads complex research and analytics projects that support the Food & Consumables private brands organization at Walmart, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership (up to the SVP level.). This role involves developing research methodologies and ensuring clear, impactful analysis to inform strategic decisions for multiple brands. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to address key business challenges for brands spanning food, personal care, beauty, baby, pet, and more. Additionally, the role includes fostering collaboration, driving continuous improvement, and promoting high standards of integrity and performance to enhance customer and business outcomes.

About the team: The Customer Insights & Strategy team at Walmart supports merchant and private brand leaders by delivering customer-focused research, analytics, & strategic insights. This team integrates the customer perspective into decisions related to strategy, assortment, category, brand, & experience. By managing complex projects and collaborating across functions, the team drives data-informed solutions that enhance business outcomes. Research methodologies and analytics are applied to identify actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making and fostering continuous improvement aligned with Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence & customer value. The team champions a culture of curiosity, learning, and innovation to elevate the quality and influence of insights.

What you'll do...

• Lead qualitative and quantitative research supporting the development, renovation, and growth of Food & Consumables private brands.
• Utilize a range of various methodologies, including focus groups, ethnographies, concept, shelf, name, and post-launch testing, to uncover customer needs, shopping behaviors, and industry trends with expertise.
• Leverage syndicated data, advanced analytics, visualization tools, and AI-enabled approaches to generate actionable insights.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to cross-functional teams, driving customer-centric business decisions and best practices.
• Build strong executive and vendor partnerships, manage research priorities, and translate complex findings into compelling stories that influence leadership and support omni-channel brand growth across Walmart’s retail ecosystem.

What you'll bring...

• Strong background in quantitative & qualitative primary research, with expertise across various research methodologies, databases, & data visualization tools. Experience with brand building / innovation focused insight processes is preferred.
• Strong aptitude to apply learnings from syndicated data & panel data tools that impact business strategies.
• Proven ability to lead complex consulting projects, ideally in retail contexts and/or with a focus on branding.
• Exceptional communication (including presenting), storytelling, & organizational skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally, influencing senior leadership & managing multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of ownership.
• Passion for translating data into actionable, customer-focused insights.
• Experience managing third-party research vendors, using both classic and innovative/AI methodologies.

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279: The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-30008: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
