Role summary:
The (USA) Director, Trend & Color, Fashion leads Walmart’s trend strategy, combining predictive data, AI and deep industry expertise to anticipate what customers will want next and translate those insights into actionable product direction. This role owns the end to end fashion trend forecasting process across categories, helping shift the organization from reactive trend identification to predictive intelligence. The Director influences product strategy, assortment decisions and seasonal storytelling, ensuring Walmart delivers the right trends, at the right time. This leader fosters continuous improvement, manages resources effectively, and supports talent development to achieve business objectives and maintain high standards. About the team:
Our mission is to build the world’s most accurate trend forecasting capability, delivering the right product at the right time. We combine predictive AI, data and human expertise to identify emerging trends, determine when and where they matter for the Walmart customer, and translate those insights into product and storytelling across the enterprise. The Trend team works closely with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Editorial, Marketing, Site and Technology to connect trend intelligence to execution and measurable business results. Their commitment to accuracy and creativity fosters impactful communication that advances the company’s objectives and market presence. What you'll do:
Own trend vision and seasonal color direction across Women’s, Men’s, Kids, Baby, Footwear and Accessories. Synthesize retail, runway, social, search, cultural and customer signals into actionable business direction. Partner with Merchandising, Design and Editorial to translate trend intelligence into commercially relevant assortments. Build frameworks that drive consistent trend adoption and measure product performance to improve forecasting accuracy. Serve as a trusted fashion authority, influencing senior leaders and cross functional partners across the enterprise. Lead and develop trend talent, balancing fashion instinct with data driven decision making. Partner with Technology to advance AI powered forecasting of trend acceleration, adoption and demand. What you'll bring:
Bring expertise in AI enabled trend forecasting, predictive analytics and emerging technology, with the ability to partner effectively with technical teams. Translate complex data and cultural signals into compelling creative and business direction. Demonstrate visual intelligence across color, silhouette, print, pattern, material, styling and product, balancing creative vision with commercial judgment. Influence senior leaders and align Merchandising, Design, Creative, Marketing and Digital teams around customer and business priorities. Lead cross functional teams, mentor talent and foster development. Bring strong leadership, communication, storytelling and project management skills, with a focus on innovation, cost control and timelines. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
