Role summary: Join Walmart’s Cybersecurity team as a Penetration Testing Engineer III, applying advanced expertise in security testing, vulnerability assessment, and risk management to safeguard critical systems. This role involves conducting comprehensive penetration tests, evaluating security controls, and collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks. About the team: Walmart’s Penetration Testing team plays a critical role in protecting the technology infrastructure of the world’s largest retailer. The team conducts thorough security assessments across cloud platforms, applications, APIs, mobile devices, IoT, hardware, firmware, and enterprise systems. By identifying and validating vulnerabilities, they provide actionable recommendations to enhance security controls and reduce risks. Combining deep technical expertise with strong collaboration and communication skills, the team ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of essential systems that support millions of customers and associates worldwide. Key skills include penetration testing, vulnerability management, cyber security, and secure coding. What you'll do:
- Conduct comprehensive penetration testing to identify security vulnerabilities across systems, networks, and applications.
- Assess and validate security controls using established cybersecurity principles and frameworks.
- Analyze and prioritize risks, recommending effective mitigation and remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical requirements and communicate security findings clearly.
- Utilize security testing tools and scripting techniques to enhance vulnerability detection.
- Support the design and implementation of secure infrastructure and network solutions.
- Maintain documentation of testing results, risk assessments, and compliance with organizational policies.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in penetration testing, including use of tools such as Burp Suite and manual security testing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and risk management methodologies.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and prioritizing technical security vulnerabilities with appropriate remediation recommendations.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and security controls validation across various environments including cloud, mobile, and IoT systems.
- Ability to analyze business and technical requirements to define testing scopes and evaluate security risks effectively.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication and collaboration to support cyber risk management initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
