Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency. This role leverages data analysis and advanced engineering principles to develop innovative solutions, drive process improvements, and support strategic business objectives. The position requires effective communication across teams and stakeholders to influence decisions and ensure successful project execution. The Senior Manager also oversees financial evaluations and talent development initiatives, fostering a culture of operational excellence and collaboration within the organization. About the team: Our team designs automation systems that drive Walmart’s eCommerce fulfillment centers, creating scalable solutions to enhance capacity, productivity, reliability, and customer experience while optimizing capital investment. What you'll do...

• Lead the design, development, and integration of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency and process improvement.
• Utilize data analysis tools to interpret complex data, develop insights, and influence strategic decisions.
• Manage projects by planning, estimating, organizing, and monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify automation opportunities and resolve technical challenges related to machinery and system integration.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including implementation plans, test criteria, and status reports.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows and recommending optimized processes.
• Provide financial analysis to evaluate automation investments and ensure return on investment.

What you'll bring...

• Proven expertise in automation system design, integration, and troubleshooting within complex operational environments.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to leverage tools for hypothesis testing, visualization, and strategic insight development.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including risk identification, contingency planning, and stakeholder communication.
• Proficiency in process improvement methodologies and operational excellence principles to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Solid understanding of engineering economics, financial data analysis, and business case development for automation investments.
• Effective communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and present complex information clearly.
• Experience with CAD and mechatronics concepts relevant to automation machinery and control systems.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
