Summary The Operator is responsible for producing material within product specifications per the Product Control Plan. Stages material for the order, enters materials in the tally sheet, and performs several other functions to ensure production operations run smoothly throughout the shift.
Responsibility for Safety, Health & Environmental • Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system. • Follow instructions for safe handling of materials as per product Material Safety Data Sheet. • Wears proper safety equipment as specified in Material Safety Data Sheets or work instruction. • Maintains clean and safe work area and reports hazards and faulty equipment to Supervisor. Actively participates in Monthly Safety Meetings, completes monthly quiz rockets, and participates in safety audits. People • Communicates with the laborers and other operators through the shift and at shift change. • Assists with training of new hires. • Acts as a back up to other plant positions when necessary. Quality • Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements. • Individual has responsibility for product quality and is authorized to stop production in order to correct quality problems. • Participate in problem solving activities and identify opportunities for improvement within the quality process.
Duties/Responsibilities • Understanding of material handling for raw/finished materials. • Understanding of BOM and material classes. • Assist with the labeling/packaging/placement of material in designated locations. • Must provide coverage for breaks with other team members. • Confirms correct materials/setups are being used. • Must maintain Production logs. • Performs misc. maintenance on equipment. • Must actively pursue good housekeeping. • Must use machine setups, and verify setups at the start of shift. • Must perform quality testing and make adjustments as needed. • Assist in the scanning of materials to tally sheets and looking for red flagged materials. • Must utilize process log to document issues in the process and supply beneficial information. • Must follow changeover procedures (C/O books) • Must understand seating of blades. • Must maintain clean vent/vacuum ports. • Must perform shift change duties with other shifts.
Recommended Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
