Job Description
Western Nevada College is recruiting for an Accounting Assistant 2. The Accounting Assistant 2 provides clerical accounting and customer service support for the Controller's Office at Western Nevada College and reports directly to the Assistant Controller. This position is responsible for cashiering operations, accounts receivable processing, third-party billing, document management, and basic accounting support. The incumbent performs a variety of technical accounting duties requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and the application of established accounting procedures. The Accounting Assistant 2 works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external customers to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions while maintaining compliance with Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), State of Nevada, and Western Nevada College policies and procedures.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Minimum: Grade 25 Step 1 $42,636.96 annually
The classified employee pay scale is divided into 10 steps within each grade. Most employees start at a step 1 and are eligible for an annual step increase with satisfactory performance, until they reach the maximum, step 10. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets, and Nevada Administrative Code.
Classified employees are eligible for any legislatively approved cost of living increases (COLA).
