The Training Specialist is a role that will collaborate with various Production leaders, Quality & Human Resources departments to ensure effective delivery and compliance of training to workforce. This position will play a vital role in promoting and implementing onboarding and training that supports the employee experience and drives organizational goals, including cross training initiatives and leadership development. The Training Specialist will have focus that emphasizes the on-the-job training experience for production operators, and will develop plans to ensure operational readiness. This position reports to the Stafford Human Resources Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies specific training and development needs within the organization for new hires and existing personnel through job analysis, surveys, interviews and regular consultation with management. Involves continuous review and analysis of strategy, training delivery methods, etc.
- Developing and delivering training materials on processes and technologies so as to ensure team members devlop, maintain, and increase their own technical and/or process knowledge.
- Responsible for planning, developing/facilitating, implementing, and tracking training programs for employees.
- Works with management to determine training needs and implements programs to support the identified needs.
- Evaluates effectiveness of training programs utilizing best practice methods to identify and implement improvements. Helps update training materials to reflect current business needs.
- Prepares and implements annual training plan and prepares reports to management on training plan & budget status, results and effectiveness.
- Communicates training issues, concerns and trainee progress to respective Manager and site leadership.
- Makes recommendations for re-training of employees and for improving training/training materials.
- Interacts with outside vendors to facilitate training programs as needed.
- Coordinates employee participation in outside vendor training as needed.
- Develops communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training updates & programs.
- Supports and helps drive organizational retention initiatives.
- Works flexible shifts as needed or requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or related field (or equivalent experience) desired.
- At least 2 years of training and development facilitation experience desired, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to assess training progress and effectiveness and communicate effectively with Operators, Technicians, Engineers, Supervisors and Managers.
- Knowledge of procedures and process training or related experience in manufacturing related operations.
- Knowledge of training concepts and principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication; dynamic & engaging presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills – good listener, seeks input from others, provide positive mentoring; organizational management – coordinate multiple training sessions/topics; effective time management; attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects;
- Ability to work independently and be a team player; work with cross-functional teams; build strong relationships- internally and externally;
- Ability to make effective, timely unbiased decisions;
- Able and willing to work flexible hours across all shifts as needed; work with minimal supervision.
- Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident

Benefits are available 1st of the month following date of hire.
Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
