Why you will love this opportunity as Senior Engineering Manager at Civica

As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead Engineering Managers and multiple software engineering teams across Civica’s products. You will set direction, develop leadership capability and enable teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable customer outcomes.

Partnering closely with Product and senior stakeholders, you will shape engineering strategy, guide technical direction and align delivery with business priorities. You will balance immediate customer needs with product quality, technical sustainability and long term value.

You will champion modern engineering practices and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Through data informed leadership and the considered adoption of AI, you will strengthen engineering performance and help shape technology that improves outcomes for citizens.

What you will do to be successful in this role

• Lead Engineering Managers and multiple teams to deliver high quality product outcomes.
• Build strong leaders and capable, engaged engineering teams.
• Partner with Product to align technology priorities with customer and business needs.
• Shape product technology strategy and long term engineering roadmaps.
• Modernise engineering practices, tools and ways of working to improve speed, quality and efficiency.
• Embed AI and automation across the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity and delivery.
• Measure the impact of AI adoption and engineering improvements through clear, outcome-focused metrics.
• Balance product delivery with quality, technical debt, cloud costs and long-term sustainability.
• Champion modern practices across continuous delivery, automated testing, security and observability.
• Apply strong technical leadership within a Microsoft focused environment, including .NET, .NET Core, Azure and SQL Server.
• Bring broader experience with modern cloud and engineering technologies such as AWS, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes and Datadog.
