Position Overview
The Catering & Event Operations Partner II role involves a diverse range of responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of food service orders and events. This position is responsible for the setup, delivery, and breakdown of catering orders, while maintaining exceptional standards of customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. The Catering & Event Operations Partner II also plays a key role in restocking supplies and supporting food service events across the company. Additionally, this role may assist with food preparation as needed.
This position is onsite and will support catering and event functions for Abbott Cancer Diagnostics facilities in Madison, WI.
Shift: 1st, 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare, set up, and break down all catering and event needs including decoration and arrangement of dining areas, ensuring correct setup and timely execution of event functions according to specifications.
- Transport materials to and from service areas, adhering to health and safety standards for food, serving ware, and equipment.
- Prepare and serve food in an attractive manner, following instructions and maintaining a positive, courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Address customer concerns and needs promptly, providing optimal service and communicating clearly with leadership about any issues.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain all equipment, utensils, dining ware, linens, work areas, and food preparation surfaces throughout the service, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Manage inventory and restock supplies including cold beverages, dry goods, snacks, and disposable wares, ensuring items are stocked and organized for daily operations and events.
- Serve as the onsite contact for vendors delivering food products, verifying and unloading deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of items in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Handle laundry tasks, including washing, drying, and transporting items for dry cleaning.
- Comply with sanitation and safety standards, ensuring all personnel follow the established guidelines.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment, setup, and presentation.
- Work quickly and efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while delivering exceptional service.
- Proactively communicate with leadership and cross-functional teams when there are missing or unmet needs, ensuring that any gaps in supplies, resources, or services are addressed in a timely manner.
- Clean, wash, peel, and cut fruits, vegetables, and other food for optimal presentation.

- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold Serve Safe certification at time of hire or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
- No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
- No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
- No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
The base pay for this position is
$17.00 – $34.00/hour
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
