THE ROLE: This Finance Manager role is a high-visibility position within AMD's Finance organization, responsible for overseeing marketing funding governance and compliance across global programs. The role partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Corporate Accounting, Legal, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to ensure funding activities are executed in compliance with AMD policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting requirements, including ASC 606. The successful candidate will drive governance, compliance oversight, financial risk assessment, and process improvements while supporting the integrity of AMD's marketing spend and financial reporting. This individual should be comfortable navigating complex business scenarios, interpreting policy and accounting requirements, and influencing stakeholders to drive compliant business outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead governance and compliance oversight of Marketing Funding Programs (MFP), ensuring program execution aligns with AMD policies, controls, and accounting requirements. Partner with Marketing, Sales, Corporate Accounting, Legal, and Finance stakeholders to interpret and apply policy and compliance requirements. Evaluate marketing funding programs, contractual commitments, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP requirements. Perform financial and compliance assessments to identify potential accounting, reporting, and control risks. Support quarterly and ad hoc reviews of marketing funding activities, including breakage assessments, financial impact assessments, and accounting considerations. Ensure funding transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and audit-ready evidence. Monitor compliance trends, identify risk areas, and recommend corrective actions and process improvements. Drive policy awareness and stakeholder education to strengthen compliance and governance across marketing funding activities. Lead or support internal and external audit requests, compliance reviews, and management reporting. Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve controls, and leverage automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and compliance effectiveness. Prepare executive-level reports, analyses, and presentations to communicate program health, compliance risks, and strategic recommendations. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Audit, Revenue Recognition, or related functions. Strong understanding of ASC 606, US GAAP, and internal control frameworks. Experience supporting marketing funding, rebates, incentives, channel programs, revenue-related transactions, or similar commercial arrangements. Demonstrated experience evaluating transactions for policy, accounting, or compliance implications. Experience partnering with Corporate Accounting, Legal, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess financial and compliance risks. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. SAP experience preferred. Experience with process automation, reporting tools, and continuous improvement initiatives is a plus. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred.
