THE ROLE: The Foundry Sourcing and Operations Manager is responsible for leading strategic supplier management, commercial negotiations, procurement operations (including managing a team of buyers), and process optimization activities to support AMD's foundry and advanced packaging supply chain. This role serves as the primary interface between suppliers, engineering, finance, operations, and executive leadership to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, capacity readiness, operational excellence, and timely execution of procurement initiatives. The position coordinates the management of AMD's spend with strategic foundry suppliers. It drives both strategic sourcing and operational execution while establishing supplier development programs that support AMD's long-term growth objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Develop and execute global procurement and commodity strategies for foundry, post-fab, and advanced packaging suppliers. Lead commercial negotiations involving pricing, capacity commitments, contracts, NRE funding, rebates, and long-term supply agreements. Own the competitive bidding process, including RFQ development, supplier analysis, cost modeling, price negotiations, and business award recommendations. Build and maintain executive-level supplier relationships and strategic partnerships. Drive supplier development programs focused on cost, quality, technology, service, flexibility, and long-term supply assurance. Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM), including quarterly scorecards and business reviews covering cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility. Implement contracts that minimize AMD risk and establish supplier accountability for non-performance. Formalize market research and benchmarking processes for foundry, post-fab, and advanced packaging services. Communicate commodity strategies and regular progress updates to AMD senior management. Procurement Operations Manage a team of buyers to enable end-to-end procurement processes, including purchase order management, NPI/NRE procurement program management and order execution, goods receipt processes, invoice reconciliation, and payment issue resolution. Develop, implement, and lead critical foundry procurement management processes based on stakeholder feedback. Lead spend and savings reporting, emergency ordering support, payables and receivables tracking, critical action reporting, and accountability mechanisms. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, financial controls, and contractual obligations. Partner with Finance, Accounts Payable, Logistics, Planning, and Operations teams to resolve transactional challenges and improve process efficiency. Monitor procurement metrics, operational KPIs, and supplier performance indicators. Lead the development and implementation of procurement SOPs, automation initiatives, and digital transformation projects. Initiate and lead scalable procurement processes that support AMD growth and operational effectiveness. Develop critical action tracking, reporting, executive dashboards, and accountability processes. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve execution speed. Drive continuous improvement across sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Foundry or semiconductor experience. Strong sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and commercial contracting skills. Familiarity with supply chain management and experience with global manufacturing operations. Strong engineering background or technical understanding of semiconductor manufacturing is a plus. Strong financial acumen with experience managing large supplier spend portfolios. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
