Summary:

To inspect and report on the condition of incoming raw material, out-going shipments, material in process. Insure that in the general processing and handling of material and finished items, good quality methods are used to maintain a quality part in all areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Receive and inspect incoming raw material.

2. Inspect incoming parts from outside sub-contracted companies to make sure they are in accordance with prints and specifications.

3. Inspect items to be shipped for quality, including dimensional accuracy and overall appearance.

4. Inspect parts in fabrication to see that they conform to print and project specifications.

5. Inspect weldments in process for accuracy, weld quality and good appearance.

6. Inspect completed weldments to make sure they conform to prints and specifications.

7. Verify hydrostatic tank tests or leak tests to insure they conform to project specifications.

8. Do final inspection on items ready for shipments to insure they conform to prints and specifications and conform to Apache’s quality standards.

9. Responsible for notifying Director of Operations and engineering of discrepancies or deviations from the prints and specifications.

10. Responsible for signing the request for packing slip in a timely manner when the item is ready to ship.

11. Responsible for stopping any job from shipment if he feels that the quality would be unacceptable to the customer.

12. Inspect A.S.M.E. raw materials and purchased items to see that they comply with applicable A.S.M.E. code requirements. Also see that the parts have the correct identification numbers and tags in the proper place and manner.

13. Inspect A.S.M.E. work in process to determine if it is being handled and fabricated in accordance with proper codes. Check to see that the proper welding wire is being used.

14. Keep the proper A.S.M.E. forms up to date including material receiving reports, quality control checklists, and inspection reports.

15. Blue print reading and interpretation.

16. Use micrometers, dial calipers, and other measuring devices to check that items are as per print and specifications.

17. Complete multiple tasks on a daily basis.

18. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Up to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL©
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
