As Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build the reliability, developer experience, and trust infrastructure that let a small team ship fast without breaking anything. You'll work directly with the Lead Platform Architect: you own implementation, operations, and reliability, and you have a real say in where the architecture goes next.

What you will do:

Reliability & Operations

• Build monitoring, alerting, and observability across GCP (Cloud Run, AlloyDB/Postgres, BigQuery) and Railway
• Set up staging environments and a deploy pipeline with real rollback
• Implement backup and recovery that is actually tested
• Own incident response and turn every incident into lasting hardening

Developer Experience

• Build CI/CD pipelines and migration tooling that keep schema changes safe and predictable
• Build test infrastructure that runs real workflows against real project data
• Make the platform SDK fast and easy to build on, so feature work speeds up as the team grows

Trust & Security Infrastructure

• Implement the authorization model: roles, permissions, and multi-project data isolation
• Build immutable audit logging that holds up under outside scrutiny
• Lay the operational groundwork for SOC 2 compliance

Architecture & Collaboration

• Propose and shape design changes through written architecture decisions
• Ship features against defined acceptance criteria using real project data
• Work closely with the people who use the platform, including occasional jobsite visits

Tools & Technologies:

• Platforms & Infrastructure: PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Railway, monitoring and observability tooling
• Security & DevSecOps: Role-based authorization, multi-tenant data isolation, immutable audit logging, SOC 2 readiness, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing
• Cloud & IaC: GCP or AWS at production scale, Infrastructure as Code, migration tooling, AI-assisted development workflows

What you bring: Experience:

• Experience: Senior-level backend engineering (5+ years) with deep production Postgres expertise (schema design, migrations, performance as data grows), plus GCP or AWS run at real scale where you were responsible for uptime, not just deployments
• Systems Expertise: Hands-on work with authorization and multi-tenant systems
• Consulting / Leadership: Able to own operations end to end, influence architecture through clear written proposals, and partner closely with a Lead Architect and end users
• Mindset: Builder at heart, pragmatic, and comfortable with little process and shifting priorities. You treat CI/CD and IaC as habits and use AI-assisted development in your daily work
• Location: Based in LatAm
• Nice to have: Construction, AEC, or vertical SaaS background, and SOC 2 or other compliance experience
