Job Title: Floor Technician Department: Facilities / Janitorial Services Reports To: Site Supervisor or Facility Manager

Job Summary

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and restoring various types of flooring surfaces in commercial, industrial, and office facilities. This position ensures floors are clean, safe, and presentable by performing routine and specialized floor care services, including stripping, waxing, buffing, polishing, and carpet maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dust, and clean hard surface floors.
• Strip, wax, seal, and refinish floors as needed.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including burnishers, buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
• Shampoo, spot clean, and extract carpets.
• Perform high-speed buffing and polishing of floors.
• Remove stains, scuffs, and marks from flooring surfaces.
• Clean and maintain tile, vinyl, terrazzo, concrete, and other floor types.
• Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of floor care supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure assigned work areas meet cleanliness and appearance standards.
• Assist with general custodial duties as required.
