Brief Work Unit Description

The Energy Institute is operated under the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at Colorado State University. The Institute builds on the long history of work in energy at CSU and is intended to foster greater collaboration among energy faculty across all eight colleges with broad access to facilities for faculty and industry partners. The Institute conducts research, education, commercialization and outreach activities for the entire CSU campus. Also, the Institute operates two facilities; the Powerhouse Energy Campus, and METEC both provide safe, secure, and sophisticated facilities for university investigators and industry partners to collaboratively develop clean energy solutions. This position resides at the METEC facility, which is an industrial working environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Support director(s) and research leads in making informed decisions by providing historical context to METEC contracting, operations, and research projects.
• Support the Assistant Director with maintaining industry contacts.
• Advise Assistant director on funding items, staffing needs, performance problems, and related topics.
• Position will assist in the facilitating collaboration between METEC and other CSU researchers, Office of Sponsored Programs, external partners, program managers from funding institutions, and administrators from institutions who are involved in the project.

Conditions of Employment

• Applicant must be authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 + years research operations background at CSU

Preferred Qualifications

• Energy Institute research group experience

Salary Range

$43.50/hr.
