About the Mechanical Engineering Internship:

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while building technical knowledge across engineering, maintenance, quality, and production. You’ll support and lead projects focused on process improvements, safety enhancements, and equipment upgrades while developing valuable problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills.

Program structure:

  • Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
  • Location: Saukville, WI
  • Start Date: May 2027
  • Duration: Year-round internship

What we're looking for:

  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Preferred experience:

  • Advanced Excel and analyst skills.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Tools.

What you'll focus on:

  • Create and update engineering drawings to support equipment and process needs.
  • Support plant-wide safety and ergonomic improvement projects.
  • Lead process improvement projects from initial concept through implementation and completion.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and other internal teams to execute projects.
  • Work with contractors and suppliers to coordinate project needs and solutions.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
