Phlebotomy Technicians are essential members of the medical laboratory team, responsible for the accurate and efficient collection of blood samples from patients. Because many individuals children, teens, and adults alike may feel anxious or fearful about needles or the blood-draw process, skilled phlebotomists play a critical role in creating a calm, reassuring experience. For new graduates, the team prefers candidates who have completed an externship during which they gained hands-on experience drawing blood.
