Spring 2027 City Scholars Software Developer Intern

City Scholars Software Developer Interns that join DRW for a semester are part of a team of experienced software engineers (including past City Scholars!) across the US, UK and Canada working on industry leading systems for capturing, cataloging, indexing and presenting data from more than 70 financial exchanges around the world.

Challenges include overcoming scalability (over 180B messages per day) with cloud technology, understanding low level networking concepts, decoding binary data protocols and the inner workings of financial exchanges and their matching engines.

We pride ourselves on being able to take talented programmers and put them straight to work on complex issues. These are real problems requiring real solutions, not fabricated examples, and everyone of our past City Scholars (1-4 per semester since the start of the program) put code in production by the end of their semester with us. This real-world project work gives us a better understanding of what you can do, and it gives you a better understanding of what working full-time at DRW is really like.

The hourly base salary range for this position is $45/hour per the City Scholars Program guidelines.
