Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Automation Specialist is responsible for final sanding, painting, cleaning, gluing, special customer requirements and packing of a fabricated piece part following the requirements of each piece ticket and training new Automation Technician I.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Custom gluing and fabrication of pieces to meet special customer requirements

• Assemble, final sand, paint and polish finished piece parts as required

• Pack and label all piece parts in accordance with requirements on piece ticket

• Select the correct packing materials such as skids, paper, corner boards, license plate

• Conduct final inspection each piece for dimensional and visual quality

• Train new Automation Technician I

• Maintain or exceed expected output on pieces per hour

• Follow all safety and quality standards

• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures

• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to demonstrate comprehension of all Automation Technician I work processes

• Ability to glue applied edges, cut and seam, and perform custom finish with hand tools to special customer requirements

• Ability to use a calibrated tape measure and identify standard and metric units based on ticket requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Capable of becoming forklift certified

• Able to work overtime including weekends

• Able to operate heavy machinery including belt sander

• Ability to learn AUTOMATION Software and perform basic computer functions

• Ability to effectively communicate within a team

• Ability to collect and document all needed data at assigned workstation using the appropriate forms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Minimum 12 months’ work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform assisted pushing/pulling of epoxy slabs weighing 300-500 lbs. over a roller table

• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead repetitively during a 12-hour day

• Able to stand for minimum of 12 hours

• Lift minimum of 50 lbs.
