Hourly Pay Range:
$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Phlebotomist III - Per Diem
- Location: Northwest Community Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
- Hours: Mon-Thurs-7am-8pm, Fridays- 7am-5pm, Sat 7am-5pm.

What you will do:
- Proficiently performs accurate venipuncture and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients for all age groups.
- Correctly identifies patients before specimen collection and labels all specimens accurately before leaving patient bedside using the Rover device when appropriate
- May be responsible for collection of body fluid or other samples including, nasal and throat swabs, and breath samples.
- Prepares and assists in the processing of blood and body fluid samples per established guidelines.
- Assist in the orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students.
- Applies skills and experience to identify and address problems as they arise and notifies lead/supervisory personnel as needed.
- Assists with inventory management duties as assigned.
- Ensures that all customer requests for Laboratory services are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Provides phone coverage and understands the importance of professional appearance and behavior in conducting oneself in a customer-oriented manner in accordance with the hospital’s mission.
- Serves as a resource to other Phlebotomists and team members and assists in training.
- Practices appropriate Standard Precautions as described in Infection Control and Prevention Activities. Adheres to all other departmental and hospital safety standards in order to maintain a safe patient care and working environment.
- Maintains records such as logs, workload records, and requisitions in a neat and organized manner.
What you will need:
- Education: The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school or the equivalent.
- Certification: Certification in approved school of phlebotomy is highly desirable. CPR-BLS from the AHA required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting; including experience working with all age groups of patients and performing various age-related testing procedures.
