Paid Social Business Director
The Role
The Paid Social Business Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, performance and development of paid social across a portfolio of clients.
Sitting within the Paid Social leadership team and reporting to the Head of Paid Social, you’ll provide senior counsel to clients, oversee the quality and performance of paid social activity, and lead and develop high-performing teams. You’ll combine paid social expertise with strong commercial thinking, ensuring work delivers against client objectives while continuing to drive innovation, growth and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for paid social across key clients, ensuring activity aligns with their wider business and marketing objectives.
- Oversee best-in-class paid social planning, activation and optimisation, ensuring consistently high-quality delivery.
- Build strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to drive growth and long-term value.
- Work closely with other channel leads, specialist teams and platform partners to deliver integrated media solutions.
- Champion innovation, testing and the adoption of new platforms, products and ways of working.
- Own commercial performance across your client portfolio, including forecasting, budget management and revenue delivery.
- Maintain high standards of governance, audit compliance, quality assurance and operational best practice.
- Lead, coach and develop Account Directors and the wider paid social team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support new business pitches, strategic planning responses and wider agency initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Paid social expertise: Strong knowledge of paid social strategy, planning, activation and optimisation, with an understanding of the evolving platform landscape.
- Strategic leadership: Ability to set a clear direction and translate client objectives into effective paid social strategies.
- Client leadership: Confident building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and providing strategic counsel.
- Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of budgets, forecasting, revenue delivery and commercial performance.
- People leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach and develop senior team members while building collaborative, high-performing teams.
