AI AGENT SOFTWARE ENGINEER

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As an AI Agent Software Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our clients. ● Rapidly translating AI/agentic proof-of-concepts and solution designs into working, production-ready capabilities. ● Working under the technical direction of solutions architects and engineering leads, the AI agent software engineer will build, integrate, test, and refine AI agents within an AWS cloud environment supporting a full-stack Java application ecosystem

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Translate AI architecture, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts into functional and scalable agentic AI solutions ● Develop AI agents and workflows that interact with enterprise applications, APIs, data sources, knowledge repositories, and other agents

● Integrate AI capabilities into existing full-stack Java applications SDLC ● Develop and maintain APIs, services, orchestration logic, prompts, context-management approaches, and supporting components required for agentic workflows

● Implement retrieval, tool-calling, workflow orchestration, structured outputs, and human-in-the-loop patterns as required by individual use cases ● Leverage AWS cloud and AI services provided by client to develop, deploy, monitor, and scale agentic solutions

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The AI Software Engineer must have: ● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science ● Experience: 3+ years of related experience ● Technical skills

• Hands-on experience developing solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or AI-assisted application capabilities.
• Hands-on experience developing multi-agent or workflow-based AI solutions
• Strong software development fundamentals delivering enterprise AI agentic solutions
• Experience with Java and full-stack application development
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native development
• Understanding of prompt design, context management, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and agent workflow concepts

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
