Are you a pharmacy technician who is organized, detail-oriented, quick to learn, and enjoys keeping things moving? We’re looking for a Cycle Pharmacy Technician to join our team and play an important role in making sure medications are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

This is not a traditional data-entry position. The heart of this role is working in the pharmacy’s cycle process — including cycle flashing, resynchronization, refill advance requests, coordinating with doctors’ offices, and making sure medications are ready to meet delivery and patient-care deadlines.

This can be a great opportunity for an experienced technician, as well as a newer technician who is motivated, learns quickly, pays close attention to detail, and wants to grow their pharmacy skills.

What You'll Do

  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system accurately and efficiently.
  • Cycle pharmacy activities, including cycle flashing, resynchronization, refill advance requests, and cycle medication processing.
  • Review prescriptions and requests for accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become errors.
  • Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up with doctors’ offices regarding refill requests.
  • Contact doctors’ offices and other appropriate parties to obtain information needed to keep prescriptions moving.
  • Triage incoming fax prescriptions and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate computer notes, cycle-fill coding, and documentation.
  • Calculate and/or verify appropriate dosage information based on the prescription.
  • Develop proficiency with pharmacy systems, including document imaging and pharmacy operating systems.
  • Communicate with customers by phone in a caring, professional, and courteous manner, routing calls appropriately when needed.
  • Stay organized and ensure assigned prescriptions and cycle tasks are completed within established deadlines.
  • Learn and maintain the cycle process to help ensure medications are prepared in time for scheduled deliveries.
  • Maintain records for cycle medications, fill requests, renewals, and new cycle orders.
  • When needed, assist with additional pharmacy activities such as filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions for dispensing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

You don't have to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone who is willing to learn, asks questions, and takes pride in getting the details right.

This role may be a particularly good fit if you are:

  • A newer pharmacy technician looking to build experience.
  • A fast learner who enjoys learning new systems and processes.
  • Highly detail-oriented and naturally catches things others might miss.
  • Comfortable working quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experienced in customer service and know how to communicate professionally and compassionately.
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a dependable team member.
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and follows through.
  • A problem solver who can investigate an issue and determine the next step rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Required Qualifications

  • Current pharmacy technician license/registration/certification as required by state law — this is mandatory. We cannot hire candidates who do not hold the required pharmacy technician credential.
  • High school diploma or GED, as required by state regulations.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician or related experience preferred; motivated beginners with the required pharmacy technician license are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with pharmacy operating systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills.

Why This Role?

If you're looking for a pharmacy technician position where you can learn, stay engaged, build your skills, and make a real difference in keeping medications moving to patients on time, this could be a great fit.

Whether you're an experienced technician or a licensed technician ready to take the next step, we want someone who brings accuracy, initiative, curiosity, and a team-first attitude to the role.

If you're a licensed pharmacy technician who is ready to learn and make an impact, we'd love to hear from you!
