Job Description:

POSITION: Full-Time Child Development Center Teacher

CAMPUS: Swainsboro

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under close supervision of the director, assistant director, and lead teacher, the Child Development Teacher duties include assignment to a classroom and/or floating between classrooms, performing or assisting with planning, preparing, implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children attending the STC CDC. Assists with observations and evaluations of individual children and assists with meeting their physical needs. Other duties and training as assigned. The work hours for this position are scheduled Monday through Friday.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED (Upon approval, the applicant may be hired on a temporary basis with the expectation of enrolling in a program related to Early Childhood Care and Education, the semester after being hired, with the completion of a credential to be within a specified amount of time in order to maintain employment.)
  • Successful criminal background check, fingerprint records check, and drug screen completed as part of the hiring process

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, a Technical Certificate of Credit in Early Childhood Care and Education, an educational credential in a closely related field, or current enrollment in a closely related educational credential
  • Prior experience working with young children

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary is to be commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications:

The incumbent must meet all of the following minimum requirements: -Never have been found by credible evidence, e.g. a court or jury, a department investigation or other reliable evidence to have abused, neglected or deprived a child or adult or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct; be at least 18 years of age; have current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in CPR and a triennial -training program.
